Our school programs enable teachers and students to visit
a marine science facility to gain knowledge that will help
them achieve Maine State learning standards in the sciences.
Students can observe and interact with marine
life in our Ocean Room along with knowledgeable naturalists
and educators.
We also provide field trip opportunities
including boat trips and field walks where our instructors
conduct experiential learning activities.
Another option for schools is to have MERI
Educators visit your school for programs.
The MERI Center for Marine Studies has
an Ocean Aquarium Room available for live
animal encounters, lab equipment for science activities,
and houses a Sea Lending Library with books,
periodicals, and videos.
MERI’s field trips
include beach walks and island boat trips with MERI naturalists.
MERI educators and naturalists
can visit your school with and conduct programs on marine
life.
